Personal Statement

I have a Master's in Music Education with many years of classroom instruction as well private lessons. My goal is find how my students best learn and create a comfortable and inviting environment where he/she can flourish and continue a life-long learning of music.

Education / Training

I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a concentration in Voice and a minor in Piano. In college I sang in various operas and opera scene performances and was a finalist for the ECU concerto competition. I also participated in NATS (National Association of Teachers Singing) competitions in which I scored an exellent rating and was in the top 3 in my age category. I also served as accompanist for undergraduate students in my studio.

I recieved my Master's Degree from ECU in Music Education. I have taught Elementary general music and chorus classes as well as Middle School Chorus, Drama, Musical Theater and Group Piano. I am currently the choir director and Director of Children and Youth Ministries for Zebulon United Methodist Church and have been a private piano and voice teacher for 5 years.
