The inspiration to start LessonsThatRock occurred after taking music lessons with a half dozen boring music teachers. I suddenly realized, it doesn't matter how much you know if you're not having fun.
It hit me that I could be a better teacher. Since then I've created a program that keeps music lessons fun, inspiring, and educational.
Micah J. Mata, founder, has over seven thousand hours of experience teaching guitar, bass and keyboard to tikes, teens, and adults of all ages in Los Angeles and Orange County. He is comfortable teaching students that have never picked up a guitar as well as instructing long-time players new methods to increase their playing abilities and expand their repertoire.
He has developed his own instructional technique focusing on the students’ strengths and desired direction. He has finished his first instructional based publication, the Techniques N' Theory™. Micah donates his time & talents to several various charitable causes, sometimes enlisting the aid of students. This includes performing at the 2008 LA AIDs Walk, in front of over 50,000 people.
