Personal Statement

I've been performing and teaching professionally for over 20 years. While the guitar is my main instrument, I have a degree in Music Education from NJCU, where I learned to play and teach multiple brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. I have been an elementary public school band director in North Jersey for 17 years. I have been honored with the Governors' Teacher of the Year Award in 2008 and have won several awards with my school ensembles. I can teach beginning through intermediate levels on most instruments, and advanced/professional lessons on all styles of the guitar. I am also an active performer, playing over 200 shows a year and have original music released worldwide under my own name. Please check out my website for more information: www.davecrum.com

Education / Training

I completed my undergraduate studies in Music Education at New Jersey City University under the direction of Paul Meyers for jazz guitar and Ana Maria Rosado on classical guitar. I also received my Master's Degree in Jazz Performance from New Jersey City University, also studying with Dr. Ed Joffe and Pete McGuinness.
