Personal Statement

Andrew Munger is a music educator, composer, and multi-percussion artist living in Raleigh, NC. A versatile musician, Andrew has done extensive work with symphonic percussion, West African percussion, drumset, mallet instruments, and electronic media. Andrew enjoys creating and performing new percussion-based works, freelancing with ensembles across North Carolina, and collaborating with fellow musicians and composers around the world.

Andrew understands the far-reaching benefits of music education, and is committed to sharing his musical expertise with all who want to learn to play drums and percussion. In his private drum and percussion lessons, Andrew creates an exciting environment that challenges students to attain new levels of artistry in their playing, and inspires them to explore new musical horizons. For groups interested in learning more about music, Andrew offers upbeat, informative workshops on topics ranging from audition preparation to drumset tuning and more.

Andrew works with students ages 7-adult, and welcomes percussionists of all ability levels to study with him.
