Personal Statement

I teach the complete family of percussion; though should one like to focus on a particular instrument like 'drum set', that is fine. However, a variety of styles in many areas is part of the 'world of percussion' and I hope to teach each student the beauty of listening and trying something new on occassion. Snare Drum, Mallets, Timpani, Drum Set (Jazz, Rock, Funk and Latin), Accessories (tambourine, triangle, castagnettes, etc.) congas and frame drums.

My work here is predominantly with the NC Symphony; however, I have played, recorded and toured with many Broadway Shows, Ballet companies, Orchestras and Rock bands.

I graduated in 1984 with two degrees BM and MM from the Juilliard School in NY city.

My location is in Apex just around the corner from the Post office.
Fee is $50/ hour

Recent students have been accepted to ECU, ASU, UNC and the N.C School for the Arts, as well as summer camps at Tanglewood, Eastern Music Festival, Cannon Music camp and the Governor's School. Many have also played in the Triangle Youth Orchestra's and Jazz groups, the Triangle British Brass Band, USAAMB (All American Marching Band) and District, Regional and State bands here in N.C.
